Inspired by the ancient Blue Lotus, the Lotus Necklace features a single bead of Lapis Lazuli, from which seven tassels of fine silver fan out, emulating its opulent blossoming. Each lotus flower blossoms for three days only — opening at dawn and closing before the sun reaches its zenith. The fine silver beads are handmade in Thailand, and the necklace is strung on a rope of blue silk. Every Lotus necklace is made on a Friday (sacred to Venus), while sipping tea from the Blue Lotus of the Nile.
